small action, big revolution    The environmental crisis is an extremely urgent matter for everyone to take actions to avoid the waste of natural resources. Before the scientists are figuring out the substitute energy, we, designers, have responsibility to create with consciousness of environmental friendliness, not only to implement recyclable materials for designs but more importantly to have the right attitude then act on it. I started from my childhood memory that I always looked through a window and prayed for rain to stop. Observing rain hitting the glass window, I thought maybe to come out some outdoor objects to interact with the rain…then I thought about what if I can save the rain for the dry days. Cumulus is an outdoor water container to collect rain for occasional household tasks. It is constructed by two separated components which are held together by super magnets in between. The water container is placed outside the glass window and the handle is on inside the glass window while putting it in use. Cumulus is simple to use and it is a great gesture for urbanite to take actions on doing something green.

小动作，大改革   伴随着人类的高度文明发展，地球资源的损耗殆尽已成为国际间刻不容缓的议题，在众多科学家找出最有效的替代能源前，设计师有义务透过观察，找出生活中任何有机会的减少浪费，不仅仅是对物件材料的推敲，更要从根本去引导人的生活态度和习惯。针对这次的主题“雨“，我试着挑战自己做些环保相关的议题，毕竟雨是大自然中不可缺少的一部分。如何以更平实的方式来潜移默化一般人对环保意识的提升，是我在这次作品中最想表达的环节。老实说，我从小对雨并没有太大的好感，因为一旦下雨了就得待在家里那儿都不能去，所以小时侯总是趴在窗子边上听着雨敲打玻璃的声音并祈祷雨赶快停止。透过这层记忆，我开始想能不能在玻璃窗上设计些有意思的东西。或许是能和雨互动来打发时间的小玩具，也或许是利用雨的敲打发出声音的小乐器。 但当这个初始点和环保资源回收结合起来时，答案自然就呈现出来了。”积云“其实就是一个能挂在窗上的浇花器，积云中蕴涵着大量的水气，再必要的时侯滋润大地。浇花器也有异曲同工的用途，当不下雨的时候，是一个人造的云。积云是透过均匀分布的八个强力磁铁将把手和水壶之间牢牢贴住，平时将它挂在窗外来收集露水和雨水，需要时可轻易取下用来灌溉家中的植物。尤其对居住在公寓或高楼没有阳台的都市人来说是一个贴心的设计。简单易用虽然是设计时重要的考虑点，但是这个产品引申出来的环保意识是我认为更可贵的价值。

Design: Cumulus Through personal experience and observation of everyday life, designers challenge the norm and discover the new opportunities to solve problems. Designers are sensitive in finding the uniqueness from the most ordinary objects with innovative thinking. A super ordinary object like a watering pot can be giving a new life and fresh usage pattern through an ingenious design approach.

作品名/ 积云 透过记忆和生活中的观察去发现问题创造新的机会，利用设计的手法来表达态度并找到答案。 那怕是再简单不过的动作，再平淡无奇的物件，赋予巧思和情感，都能从最微不足道里找到不平凡。浇花器是一个非常平凡的生活用品，但透过场景的转移和使用态度的改变 一样能变革出感动人的作品。

you are the reason for me to be existed   Global warming has affect the daily life for you and me. Too much pollution is killing our O zone and creates more unexpected hazards. Al Gore’s ” An Inconvenient Truth ” is not  just a movie but a strong message for us to pay more attention to our environment. The problem is that even though people have the wariness of protecting our environment and keeping it clean, most of them don’t know how to act on it. I understand it is a long shot for  us to fix what we have done to the earth, but I think there is must be something we designers can do to at least effectively control the damage. I figure if I could start to rethink our everyday household objects to make them be environmental friendly without throwing extra efforts. It might be more acceptant to the general public. I have to admit that the big idea is quite simple but when I try to excise my designs then it is super challenge. Planto is a watering pot specially designed for collecting rain to reuse the nature resource.  Its form resembles the plants and flowers but much stylized and simplified for usability.  It is symbolic of cycling phenomena from nature. The trumpet-shape water receivers provide the maximum area for rain collecting. With the built-in clear window, it is easy to see if the water pot is filled.  Planto is simple to use and it is a great gesture for people to take actions on doing something green. The earth needs more plants to maintain a healthy environment for the living creatures. I thought about to design a non-effort product for people to proactively protect our environment.

我存在，因为有你   绿化带的减少破坏了地球造氧的功能。排放过多的二氧化碳是臭氧层破洞的主要原因。全球暖化的危机也许你我都要面临。大自然的平衡失调改变了它原本的规律。前美国副总统Al Gore 的大声疾呼再也不应该是耳边风。问题是对大部份的人来说，即使有环保的意识，也不得实践的要领。而我认为实践环保最高的境界就是在不自觉的情况下做出对环境有利的事。 这是一个长期并艰巨的挑战，但我认为不是不可能达到的。首先我们设计师可以从生活中的必需品着手改造，让我们使用它们时无意识的减少污染甚至帮助环境的再生。重点是不增加任何惯用产品使用上的负担，这样推广起来才能得到普罗大众的认可，才能持续。我必须承认虽然大的概念很简单，但实际着手设计时却感到困难重重。最后终於在“本来就会做”的生活琐事上定调，才渐渐找到突破的口子。花。洒是一个貌似盆栽的集雨浇花器。有趣的是它最初始的概念并不是由花或植物的外观联想来的，而是启始于一连串的逻辑推演去解决我想达到只利用天然雨水浇花的目的。特殊的喇叭状开口是专门为了收集雨水而设计的。为了可以尽量在较短的时间内收集到足够的雨水，开口的数量变多了，面积也相应增大了，於是花与盆的型状便自然形成。也许是个美妙的巧合吧！哈，用“花”来浇花呢！我喜欢这个因果关系。可是当我再深入思考后却发现这其实正是大自然的规律的一部份， 花草树木 有了雨水的滋润和阳光的照射，为了吸收更多的资源於是愈长愈多，愈长愈大。渐渐的树成了林，草成了原，花也成了海。

Design: Planto When two people are together for a long time, they will eventually feel alike and even look alike to each other. Perhaps the watering can has stuck around with the flowers too long, it has even changed its look…The positive massage I would like to present to the general public through my designs which is use a nature way to take care of the Nature.

作品名/ 花.洒 人都说：在一起久了，两个人的感觉和像貌会愈来愈像。浇花壶大概是每天和花花草草混习惯了，真的连样子都变了。这个作品背后想要传达的是人类应该谨慎对待大自然的规律，不要轻易该变或破坏了它的平衡。努力用最接近自然的方法来解觉大自然的问题。
